Annual Application Reminder: Remember, you must apply each school year to continue receiving benefits. We are now accepting Free and Reduced Price Meal Applications for the 2024/2025 school year.
While cash payments are acceptable, we strongly encourage using the parent portal for convenience.
To qualify for free or reduced pricing, parents must complete the Meals Application.

Why are meals no longer free?
- In 2023, AB 319 was vetoed by Gov. Joe Lombardo and funding for the program in Nevada was not extended to the 2024-2025 school year.
How much are meals?
- Breakfast $2.50
- Lunch $3.50
- Reduced Breakfast $0.30
- Reduced Lunch $0.40
- If approved for reduced pricing
How do I put money on my students account?
- Login to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal and follow these steps
- Under "Quick Info", select "Food Service Balance"
- Click "Pay and enter the amount you wish to add
- Add the amount to your cart and proceed to "My Cart" in the upper right corner
- Add your payment method and submit your payment
- Funds will be automatically deducted from your students account when they purchase breakfast or lunch.
- Cash or check may also be sent with your child to school. please note, if cash is sent, no change will be given back, instead, all the money will be deposited into their account.
Where can I find the school menus?
- School Menus can be found at your school website under "Breakfast and Lunch Menu"
What if my child forget their lunch at home?
- No worries, your child will always be fed a meal if they forgot lunch. Your Infinite Campus account will be charged accordingly.
Who qualifies for free and reduced meals?
- All children in households receiving benefits from Nevada SNAP, the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations FDPIR or Nevada TANF, are eligible for free meals
- Foster children that are under the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or court are eligible for free meals.
- Children who meet the definition of homeless, runaway or migrant are eligible for free meals.
- Children may receive free or reduced price meals if your household's income is within the limits of the Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines. Your children may qualify for free or reduced price meals if your household income falls at or below the limits.
How do I know if my children qualify as homeless, migrant or runaway?
- Do the members of your household lack a permanent address? Are you staying together in a shelter, hotel, or other temporary housing arrangement? Does your family relocate in a seasonal basis? Are any children living with you who have chosen to leave their prior family or household? If you believe children in your household meet these descriptions and haven't been told your children will get free meals, please call the SCSD office.
Do I need to fill out an application for each child?
- No. Use one Free and Reduced price school meals application for all students in your household. Return the completed application to the District Office at 124 South E Street Virginia City, NV or you can mail it to Nutrition Services at PO Box C Virginia City, NV 89440
If I don't qualify now, may I apply later?
- Yes, you may apply at any time during the school year. For example, children with a parent or guardian becomes unemployed may become eligible for free and reduced price meals if the household income drops below the income limit.
